Ravinder Singh’s wife underwent cesarean operation at the civil hospital in Chandigarh on December 8. While the baby had been doing well, the mother suffered a severe stomach ache after the surgery. Singh said that the pain was so bad that his wife was unable to urinate ever since the C-section surgery happened.
After tests, it was discovered that the doctors had left a towel inside the woman’s womb. Singh along with his relatives staged a sit-in protest outside the mother and child unit of the civil hospital, demanding stringent action against the operating doctors.
Owing to the seriousness of the case, civil surgeon Dr. Rajesh Bagga has initiated an inquiry into the matter.
