Sachin Tendulkar recently opened up about mental health and anxiety issues he faced in the beginning of his career. Fondly known as the “God of Cricket” by the fans, Tendulkar felt anxiety and had sleepless nights before every match until 10-12 years of his career. In his mind, the game used to start hours before he entered the ground. He then realized that besides preparing physically for a game, he will have to prepare himself mentally as well.
Later, Tendulkar started making peace with his anxiety. Whenever he would feel sleepless before a match, he would start doing something else to keep himself comfortable.
Tendulkar also recalled his first meeting with Indian skipper Virat Kohli and said that the senior players of the team told Kohli that every newcomer has to touch Sachin’s feet and take his blessings. Virat exactly did the same. Tendulkar said he told Kohli that such things don’t happen in the team and it was not needed at all. The senior players including Yuvraj Singh, Munaf Patel, and Irfan Pathan then started laughing.
