Amid the coronavirus outbreak, Russia is facing another huge devastation after a fuel tank collapsed at a power plant in Norilsk. Over 20,000 tons of diesel leaked into the Arctic circle turning the Ambarnaya River crimson red.
President Vladimir V. Putin has declared a state of emergency in northern Siberia following the major oil spill. The accident is considered to be one of the gravest and worst oil spills in the history of the country.

The accident happened after one of the pillars of a tank at the plant collapse spilling the oil up to seven miles from the site of the accident. Experts say that the oil spill will have severe effects on the environment and ecosystem in the Arctic circle.
