Farmers from different parts of the country mainly Punjab and Haryana are protesting against the Farm Bills passed by the central government in September. As a part of “Delhi Chalo” agitation, the farmers headed to the national capital to oppose the bills on Indian Constitution Day on Thursday.
To stop the farmers from entering Delhi, the state has not only sealed the borders but police and para-military have also been deployed to control the situation. Delhi police have fired gas shells on the protestors and launched water cannons to disperse the protesting farmers.
The farmers want the government to scrap the “black laws” they have passed in the form of Farm Bills as they believe it won’t be of any benefit for them.
